Which service will we provide you with?

Healthtrust Limited acts as an ‘introducer’ of insurance products. In addition to having satisfied stringent suitability criteria, Healthtrust is continually monitored by the insurers whose products Healthtrust offers.

What will you have to pay us for our service?

Healthtrust’s expertise is freely available to you. There is no additional cost for our service as the insurers we work with have included an independent advisor’s fee within the premiums quoted.

Who regulates us?

Healthtrust is regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

The Financial Services Authority

The Financial Services Authority is an independent body that regulates the financial services industry in the UK It has been given a wide range of rule-making, investigatory and enforcement powers in order to meet its four statutory objectives. In meeting these, it is also obliged to have regard to the Principles of Good Regulation.
The FSA summarises its Statutory Objectives and Principles of Good Regulation in three Strategic Aims:
Promoting efficient, orderly and fair markets
Helping retail consumers achieve a fair deal
Improving its business capability and effectiveness

What do you do if you have a complaint?

If you make a complaint and are dissatisfied with your insurer’s response, you can ask the Financial Ombudsman Service for an independent review. You can:

Please remember the Ombudsman Service cannot deal with your complaint until you have first raised it first with your insurer. In making any complaint, your right to take legal proceedings is not affected.

Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme?

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) protects consumers of virtually all financial services in the UK. Depending on your policy and the circumstances of any claim, you may be entitled to compensation from the FSCS if an insurer can’t meet its obligations, for example to pay what it owes. If you are entitled to claim, most insurance policies are covered for 100% of the first £2,000 of the claim and 90% of the rest. Data Protection

By purchasing products from an Insurer, you agree to the holding and processing of medical and other personal details on its computer system. Your insurer may share this data with other relevant organisations so that it can validate claims quickly and efficiently and prevent fraud and money laundering. For the purposes of data-protection law, unless you are formally notified otherwise, the insurer, is the data controller.

You may receive information on other products or services from your insurer’s associated companies, unless you ask not to on your application form. You may contact your insurer at any time to stop receiving this information.
